Hi Reader,
Tonight, I'm joining a small gathering of remote work enthusiasts in Amsterdam. A group of 30 fellow founders is gathering to enjoy good pizza while interviewing Job van der Voort. The session is organized by the Dutch management platform MT/Sprout.
Job is the CEO of Remote.com, a company that provides its clients the opportunity to easily hire employees all around the world. It prides itself on taking the hassle out of international payrolling, compliance, and taxes. This so-called unicorn (with a market value of β¬3 billion during its last investment round in March '22) employs 1,100 people.
As you might have guessed, everyone in the company works fully remote. All in all, he's the perfect person to talk to if you want to learn all about remote work.
I know most of you are, just like me, remote work enthusiasts. At the same time, we all realize that it's not an easy thing to get right.
So⦠to make sure you can learn from Job van der Voort and Remote.com's journey too, I'm inviting you to share your most pressing 'remote work' questions.
I'll pick out a few, ask them to Job tonight, and share the answers in my next newsletter.
Simply share your questions by replying to this email.
(I promise I'll read all your emails, but please don't wait for an answer this time. I expect quite a few replies.)

I just returned from a few intense, inspiring days in Tokyo. The reason? To meet with Yuji Yamada (our Rebel Cell Japan coordinator), some of the leaders of our Japanese Rebel Cell companies, and a few other trailblazing organizations shaping the future of work in Asia. Yuji pulled together an extraordinary gathering, a room full of progressive leaders from across the region, including: Zhang Ruimin (Haier) Tomohiro Kimura (Gaiax) Shun Akiyama (Net Protections) Yosuke Katada (PeopleDot) Pande...
Last week, I was in China on a business trip. One of the highlights? A visit to the progressive powerhouse Haier in Qingdao. While there, I spent hours on the road. In electric cars. Surrounded by electric cars. Curious, I looked it up. Turns out: almost half of all new passenger cars sold in China today are electric. It reminded me of something Jeremy Clarkson once said: βIβve got probably 10 cars, all with V8 engines. I donβt think electric cars solve anything.β Classic Clarkson. But also:...
In preparing for the summer '25 cohort of our Corporate Rebels Masterclass, I had conversations with two founders of wildly successful self-managing organizations. Both run companies without traditional hierarchies. Because both believe in autonomy, trust, and ditching command-and-control. But when I asked them how decisions are made, I got two completely different answers. One said: "We like to reach consensus. We only move forward when everyone agrees. It's part of our culture to find the...
